Prof. Dr. H. Abad Badruzaman, Lc., M.Ag.

Abad Badruzaman, a distinguished academic and scholar, was born in Ciamis on August 4, 1973. He embarked on his educational journey in Ciamis, completing his primary, secondary, and high school education there. Pursuing higher education, Badruzaman obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, followed by Master’s and Doctoral degrees from IAIN Syarif Hidayatullah and UIN Syarif Hidayatullah in Jakarta, respectively. Throughout his academic career, Badruzaman has demonstrated a relentless pursuit of knowledge and excellence, laying the foundation for his illustrious scholarly contributions.

Badruzaman’s career as an educator and academician is marked by diverse experiences and leadership roles. He commenced his teaching career at Pesantren Darussalam in Ciamis before venturing into freelance translation for various publishing houses in Jakarta. Joining STAIN Tulungagung in 2000 as a lecturer, he gradually rose to positions of leadership, serving as the Chair of the Department of Ushuluddin, Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Dakwah, and eventually assuming the role of Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation. Currently, Badruzaman holds the esteemed position of Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Institutional Development, appointed on November 19, 2023, at UIN SATU Tulungagung.

In recognition of his scholarly achievements, UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung bestowed upon Badruzaman the title of Professor in the field of Tafsir on December 15, 2021. This honor, affirmed by the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, solidifies Badruzaman’s standing as a leading authority in his field. His contributions to academia extend beyond traditional teaching roles, as evidenced by his extensive portfolio of translated works and authored books, along with numerous articles published in reputable journals, reflecting his dedication to advancing Islamic scholarship and intellectual discourse.
