Jakarta — The National Committee for New Student Admissions for State Islamic Religious Universities (PMB PTKIN) held socialization activities for the SPAN PTKIN route and also the 2024 UMPTKIN route in Jakarta on 16-18 February 2024. This activity was opened directly by the Director General of Islamic Education at the Ministry Religion of the Republic of Indonesia Muhammad Ali Ramdhani.
Also present at this activity were the Director of Islamic Religious Higher Education (PTKI) Ahmad Zainul Hamdi, Chair of the PTKN TGH Rector’s Forum Masnun Tahir, Chair of the PMB PTKIN Committee Nyayu Khodijah, Treasurer of PMB PTKIN Rosihon Anwar, Head of the Islamic Boarding School Division and Head of the Madrasah Education Division throughout in Indonesia.
“The quality aspect must be the main benchmark in the selection of SPAN and UMPTKIN (SPAN-UMPTKIN),” said the Director General of Islamic Education, known as Kang Dhani, when giving his directions at the opening, Friday (16/02/2024).
According to him, having quality students and graduates has a direct impact on the quality and competitiveness of PTKIN, so that in turn it can boost PTKIN to become the main destination for continuing studies at higher education.
Meanwhile, the Director of Higher Education, Zainul Hamdi, advised the entire PMB PTKIN committee to work professionally and invited all heads of madrasah and Islamic boarding school education to be jointly responsible for the successful implementation of SPAN-UMPTKIN, because this is actually a shared responsibility at the Ministry of Religion.
Apart from that, Nyayu as chairman of the committee and Rector of UIN Raden Fatah Palembang said that the implementation of this socialization activity is expected to be able to increase the number of SPAN-UMPTKIN registrants in 2024.
“It is hoped that the involvement of heads of madrasa and Islamic boarding school education in this socialization activity will help the committee in socializing SPAN-UMPTKIN, especially among madrasa students and Islamic boarding school students throughout Indonesia.”
A similar opinion was also expressed by Masnun as Chair of the PTKN Rector’s Forum who said that collaboration between PTKIN and the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion was important to make SPAN-UMPTKIN a success.
“The synergy of all of us will make PTKIN the main campus for madrasa students and santri in Islamic boarding schools throughout Indonesia.”
